Our Client is the owner and operator of a dental practice in Catonsville, Maryland that was established in 1954 and was purchased by our Client in 1986. The practice has 4 operatories with 4 chairs equipped to be operated by dentists or hygienist for restorative or preventative care. The practice is presently operating four (4) days a week, serving patients a total of 31 hours each week. The dental practice is located off the main street and has ample parking space. This is a great opportunity for an Associate that would like to own his/her own practice and is looking for a stable and well established dental practice.

Dental Practice Revenues

The Practice’s revenues and collection have been very stable with continued quality in patient spend per patient appointment. The practice treated 2,865 patient appointments in 2018, of which 1808 are active clients, producing an average of $220.41 per patient. The practice is comprised of two (2) full-time employees working four (4) days a week and five (5) part-time employees. The office has the equivalent of seven (7) days of scheduled hygiene services, shared amongst the four hygienists. Two of the hygienists have worked for the practice for over 18 years, and another was a patient of the practice prior to becoming an employee of the practice. The staff benefits are limited to holidays and vacation pay, and some retirement matching depending on the years of service to the practice.

Dental Practice Technology

The practice is equipped with seven (7) Dell CPU’s and uses SoftDent for its practice management software, Dexis Platinum Sensor System, and a Soredex Cranex Novus Panorex. The practice is a participant in multiple insurance plans with 1/4 of its income derived from insurance reimbursements, and the remaining income sourced from fee-for-service patients.

Our Client is interested in retiring by the end of 2019, and working in the practice for the coming months to help the acquirer stabilize the patients and transition the patients over in a manner to minimize churn post-acquisition. Our Client is a trusted clinical source, and the patients will follow the recommendations presented by our Client.
